The Rock was the Fortress of the "King Kasyapa" who murdered his father and stole the throne from his elder brother who was the rightful heir to the throne. Kasyapa built his fortress in this 182-meter-high rock to protect himself from his enemies.
Sigiriya may have been inhabited through prehistoric times. It was used as a rock-shelter mountain monastery from about the 3rd century BC, with caves prepared and donated by devotees to the Buddhist Sangha. The garden and palace were built by Kasyapa 477 - 495 AD. Following Kasyapa's death it was again a monastery complex up to about the 14th century, after which it was abandoned. The ruins were discovered in 1907 by British Explorer John Still.
Today Sigiriya is famous for its ‘Mirror Wall’, which consists of poems and paragraphs carved by visitors to the rock many years ago and for its magnificent frescoes of shapely be-jewelled maidens, vibrant colours and the water garden similar to the Ajantha frescoes of India. Sigiriya is in fact, the best-preserved city center in Asia from the first millennium and has been named as a UNESCO world heritage site and 08th Wonder of the World.

It is built atop Swami Rock, a rocky promontory cape overlooking Trincomalee, a classical period harbour port town. The primary deity is the Hindu God Lord Shiva in the form Konesar. At its zenith, the Konesaram temple was the main shrine of the Trincomalee Koneswaram Temple Compounds, one of three ancient connected Hindu temples on Swami Rock with a considerably sized Gopuram. This temple stood distinctly in the middle of the cape, at its highest eminence. The other two connected temple shrines of the Koneswaram complex, to deities Ganesh, Vishnu (Thirumal), Ambal-Shakti and Murukan stretched across the cape to its extremities. The complex has laid in ruins, been restored, renovated and enlarged by various royals and devotees throughout its history. Colombo- Colombo (derived from Sinhalese name Kola-amba-thota which means "mango harbour", altered by the Portuguese to honour Christopher Columbus), is the cultural capital and largest city and commercial centre of Sri Lanka. (The new administrative capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayawardenepura-Kotte.)
A vast majority of Sri Lankan corporations have their head offices located in Colombo. Some of the industries include chemicals, textiles, leather goods, furniture, and jewellery. Colombo was probably known to Roman, Arab, and Chinese traders more than 2,000 years ago. Muslims settled there in the 8th century and controlled much of the trade between Sinhalese kingdoms and the outside world. The Portuguese arrived in the 16th century and built a fort to protect their spice trade. The Dutch captured the city in the 17th century. The British made the city the capital of their crown colony of Ceylon in 1802.

Hi Ganesh,
It gives me great pleasure to tell you that you have got amazing employees working with you. It had never been such a wonderful experience for me until I spoke to your agents. Whenever I call any other company it takes me ages to get through the system, but getting through to Experience Globe was so simple. And then when I spoke to the guy, he was more than generous in giving me the right answers without confusing me.
I can see how bonded your employees are. Experience Globe is lucky to have people like them. Your team was very polite in all interactions. This shows your concern for your customers.
Thank you Experience Globe for giving me an amazing adventurous Sri Lankan trip

Hi Ganesh,
I had always wanted to go to Morocco, and am so glad that I did! The country has such rich history, varied topography, and friendly people. Travel exploration did a great job preparing us for this trip, and was very responsive to questions as we were planning it. Our guide was solicitous, insanely prompt and prepared, and fun to be with. The driving into the desert and out is long, but you feel like you have seen the Grand Canyon and the Swiss Alps along the way!
Every guide was terrific, and it was evident that there is tremendous mutual respect between them and the owner.
